She’s a chemical engineering major…I’m sure she’s pretty much capable of handling anything in life ;) Here is her LinkedIn with a description of the position: https://www.linkedin.com/in/deborah-oberkor-5489811b3 Alabama Panhellenic Association 1 yr 1 mo President Nov 2022 - Present 1 mo Co-manage a $250,000 executive council budget and $450,000 recruitment budget and implement plans to reduce overall recruitment spending by 10% Co-lead the annual recruitment process for 7,500+ women who seek to join the University of Alabama’s sorority chapters Enact various programming related to sexual assault awareness, mental health improvement, professional development Serve as a board member across several philanthropic and school planning organizations Promote Greek Unity with the other four greek councils on campus Attend conferences and workshops with other schools and executive members Blows sorority stereotypes right out of the water and I love to see it! |
GOOD for her!! And—of course—for UA!
|
Hey, this is great!
|
Awesome! Good luck to her and her presidential term!
|
I would trust a person to organize an amphibious invasion of Russia after they have successfully led rush at Alabama.
|
Kudos to her for accurately reflecting her responsibilities in her LinkedIn profile as well. This is an area many people find difficult, and speaks to her ability to translate education and experience into workplace-speak. What an impressive young woman!

LOL at Low D Flat!
About the resume: it’s certainly impressive. Alan DeSantis wrote a book about Greek Life a few years back…he is an adviser at University of Kentucky. He made similar comments in his book about the level of work that goes into these exec positions on panel and IFC and even in each sorority or fraternity. It seems light hearted to a lot of people, but it really is a serious responsibility. |
Outstanding - very strong resume too. I only wish she wouldn't say "Co-Manage" and "Co-Lead". She is not a "Co-President" and the buck stops with her. She shouldn't downplay her leadership.

Rock on, Deborah!
