Lambda Kappa Nu?

Anyone familiar with Lambda Kappa Nu? It’s super new (just celebrating 1 year this month) and it seems really great. It does worry me a bit though with how new it is, but my options aren’t the same as most people since I’m an online student and older (in my 30s).

We've definitely seen online groups come and go, but they're going to catch on eventually.

What's the worst that might happen? You are out a bit of cash and some time. But remember this- our orgs were once new, and people took a chance and joined. Give it a chance.

Just chiming in may organizations started off with a handful of members and grew into something with a larger presence over time. I checked out their website just out of curiosity, I have to say for being still relatively new they have a fairly robust site and what appears to be some good representation with their leadership. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I’m an alum of a service sorority and I’m very impressed with their service activities! And just in general how far they’ve come in such a short period of time. Good luck!

It's true that most orgs started small, and at one point were new...and LKN definitely seems like they've got themselves put together well. I may apply and see what happens. They might not even accept me anyway.

Well, I have no idea why, but LKN is shutting down...so I guess I'm SOL.

So sad! It looked like they were doing a ton of good in the community and enjoying themselves.

It really IS possible to have a very well respected service club without the use of Greek Letters. If you are sincerely interested, I would urge you to find one near you.

This! I have a friend who has been involved, first with Junior Woman's Club, and now, with Woman's Club. She has enjoyed her many years as a member. My mother was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and enjoyed her time in that org. Yet another friend is heavily involved in her local Kiwanis Club. Broaden your horizons-you may find your fit in a non-Greek letter club.

Depending on the size of the town where you live, there may be a Junior League or a Service League (found in smaller cities). I was a member of JL and had a great time.
