"That demand for training and attendance, and the university’s effort to satisfy it, is one of several examples of efforts by students within and outside of the Greek system to reform it — rather than waiting for administrators to respond to the next crisis. As students return to campus in the fall, some are hoping the Greek system that greets them can make consent, safety, and inclusion higher priorities."

They've been saying this for 20 years that I can remember and probably way before that. It's definitely an uphill battle and no one is going to successfully force change on their members. I think younger folks tend to have better approaches to consent, safety, and inclusion than we did 20 years ago, so there's some hope.

Students and alums who aren't members have no right to foist themselves on the Greek system and demand change or worse yet, demand to be part of the change.
