Hello Fellow Greeks
Hello Fellow Greeks-
I found this forum and would like some advice from ya'll. I wrote a rec for a young lady going through rush at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Evidently there are rumors going around there that some of the sororities on campus haze. Now some of the Rushees are considering dropping out of Rush. These kind of rumors are detrimental to the entire greek community. Is there anything I can do about this? Do you think Panhellenic could send something out to Rushees and their parents? Would love to hear your thoughts! |
Hi there. Were you seeing some of this information on the website that "ranks" fraternities and sororities? I would certainly advise pnms to avoid that site which does draw in trolls who like to stir up trouble.
I took a quick look at their Fraternity and Sorority Life page and there is a statement regarding hazing there. https://www.colorado.edu/greeks/safe...ellness/hazing The university's Panhellenic will likely address what is hazing, the NPC's policy on it and more during recruitment orientation. |
Thank you!
I actually heard it from a friend who's daughter is currently going through recruitment. I would just hate to see high quality rushees drop out of rush because of some dumb rumors

I'm sorry that the pnms are hearing these types of rumors especially if there's no actual proof that it's happening. I hope that Panhellenic will address it during the week. |
They should talk with their rush counselor and if not her then the FSA. But keep in mind that we are talking about Boulder Colorado!
|
Thank you!
Thank you- Can you clarify what FSA is?

You are correct about it being Boulder. Unfortunately there have been highly publicized hazing incidents throughout the years......
