Bedsheets

Is it true that when you buy new sheets and blankers, you have to wash them before you use them?

I just bought some flannel sheets and I don't have access to a washer/dryer

three2tango 10-13-2002 12:21 AM

Well you don't HAVE to wash them, but FORGET about the sheets man.....are you planning to just keep wearing the same stuff until Thanksgiving break when you go home?!?!

DeltaSigStan 10-13-2002 12:25 AM

Well, I grew up here in San Diego, I don't GO home, I AM home.

sororitygirl2 10-13-2002 12:32 AM

You don't have to wash them, it just makes them soft and fresh.

PandaOnProzac 10-13-2002 12:49 AM

No offense Stan but at first I thought this was a topic about bed wetting. LOL

DeltaSigStan 10-13-2002 12:52 AM

So you thought that this thread could you out with your problem?

XOMichelle 10-13-2002 02:08 AM

it is best to wash sheets before using them

justamom 10-13-2002 07:24 AM

There are chemicals (flame retardant and the dyes) that can irritate sensitive skin. Plus, there is the softness factor to consider as sororitygirl2 mentioned.

How ARE you washing you clothes? Do you send them out?

Not to make any implication here, but the last thread I read was about not getting any respect!?!

DeltaSigStan 10-13-2002 07:39 AM

No, I do my own laundry, it's just I don't have a car right now and we don't have the laundry room at the frat house yet.

Hootie 10-17-2002 12:23 AM

I must sound weird, but I rarely wash things right away when I get them. Like I'll get a shirt and wear it first before washing it. I know some people have this thing about washing before wearing (or in this case SLEEPING)...but to me it's no big thing. Now if the shirt had OBVIOUS deodorant stains on it from people trying it on...I'd either not buy it or wash it first. But that's only happened once...and I think it could have been my own...LOL. Totally off subject, oh well!
(I'm in a weird mood can't ya tell?)

Peaches-n-Cream 10-17-2002 12:46 AM

I think that you should wash your sheets before using them.

CutiePie2000 10-17-2002 02:32 AM

Yes, I would wash the sheets before you use them.
They might have cooties on them from the factory that they were made in.

If you don't have a dryer, take them to a laundromat.
They may even have a wash and fold service, so that you don't have to hang around.
