Using T for Theta?
I noticed that Kappa Theta Pi's official website uses the KTP abbreviation for the group in talking about themselves. I can't come up with other groups using Theta that do. Theta Chi, Theta Xi and Kappa Alpha Theta don't seem to do and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honorary) *really* doesn't. Can anyone think of other groups that do that?

Maybe that's part of the reason Kappa Alpha Theta typically is shortened to just "Theta" and Beta Theta Pi uses "Beta"- it avoids the issue of using initials since Theta is not the Greek equivalent of T, and a lot of times there's not a quick & easy way to type a Θ, especially before computers.
However, this thread brings back a Theta Rush song that after almost 30 years is still in my head, so...thanks? "We, we are Kappa Alpha Theta, K-A-T!" In that one instance, yes, they used T. |

My early years as an alumni (1990-1995), I used the MS-WORD symbol font for all of my Fraternity related documentation including chapter names, so I got *quite* familiar with the roman letter that corresponded to each in the Symbol font. Theta was Q, I think. |
At my alma mater, Kappa Alpha Theta used KAT a lot. They actually used cats on many of their signs, chalking, etc. Can't speak for anyone/anywhere else!

At my university, we had a dual sorority date party with the Thetas called “Owl and the Pussycat”.
