GreekChat September Post-Mortem on Recruitment During a Pandemic

There will be a Zoom roundtable meeting on September 19th, 2020, at 8 o'clock P.M. Central U.S. for a discussion of what we learned from recruitment during a pandemic. All perspectives are welcome. I will be posting a link in the minutes before the meeting begins in this thread. Please feel free to post questions or observations in this thread which can later be used as discussion questions.

Sounds great - Thanks, Kevin!

Super excited for this one. I may have my camera on this time around ;)

This sounds exciting!! Although, it will be at 2 in the morning for me here in the UK!

I could try to record it and upload it to YT. It would be very low production value, i.e., raw. I did some broadcast journalism back in undergrad, but that was the last time I did any kind of editing.

It would really help to have folks make observations, pose potential questions, i.e., give us some material to work off of in this thread. If you're interested in covering any particular subject, please chime in.

I wish I knew what kind of retention will result from this, different or same?

Any recommendations for chapters to help with retention? Especially if they're on a campus which is on lockdown?

Ha! I thought I knew Greek life until now but we're in a totally new arena.

I expect that as usual, several women are opening their bids and walking away because they put down both sororities but really only wanted a bid from one. I just don't know if that was exacerbated by recruitment being virtual.

Calling any collegians lurking on this board who are new members from virtual recruitments, and who are willing to keep us informed about their first year of sorority membership, we're all ears!

Ditto the initiated gals on the recruiting side willing to keep us informed as to how many NM drop/initiate, and perhaps a glimpse into reasons for same and how they are working to improve as best as possible the COVID19 NM experience.
