NPC Inclusion/Anti-Racism

Another thread got me to thinking about what my sorority, and other NPC groups, are doing to promote inclusion and anti-racism. Post your sorority's inclusion resources here - maybe we can learn from each other.

They appear to be public now.

ETA - Apparently these are behind a firewall. I apologize, but if your group has public resources, please do share them. I am also going to suggest to IHQ that we make our resources public.

Those resources are public, but the Belonging and Inclusion Taskforce's recommendations are login-access only.
Speaking of, the Belonging and Inclusion Committee committee member application is open for a few more day. The role is open to non-Gamma Phi Betas, if anyone was interested.

The Resources for Collegiate Chapters is by login only.

The other resources are "items" from other websites/organizations, etc. I'd love to see the resources for the collegiate chapters, because that's where the "meat" of the organization's response is.

Kudos though to Gamma Phi Beta for creating such a resource.

To reiterate Joliebelle's post - Gamma Phi Beta is accepting applications for their Belonging and Inclusion Committee. The application closes July 31st (Friday) so there is still time to get your applications in if this is something that adds fire to your soul. You do not have to be a Gamma Phi Beta to apply. You just have to be the committed to the work and want to see a change in Greek life! From the website:
The application for Belonging and Inclusion Committee members is now open! This committee supports the prioritization, identification and implementation of practices related to belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion for Gamma Phi Beta. This position is open to all members and non-members. | http://app.jobvite.com/m?3U6o5lwj

Quite honestly, if you wanted to help us truly be inclusive, and to share your unique perspective and insight, I'd love to see you on the committee. That's the whole reason they opened it up to non-members. I know a couple of sisters of color who have been at the forefront of our table talks, and I'm sure they'd share my sentiment. I'm not qualified to be on it, and I realize that my role is to listen and learn. So I'm trying. I shared the application here because I know there are many GC members who would be good resources as we find our way forward.

Sen's Revenge 07-28-2020 07:25 PM

I will surely consider it, and thank you for saying so.

Sciencewoman 07-28-2020 07:41 PM

Inclusion means listening to diverse voices -- go for it, Sen.

Cookiez17 07-28-2020 08:10 PM

Sen you should do it if you can!

Pi Phi has also formed a diversity and equity committee as well as listing some action items, creating equity training, and piloting a new director diversity/inclusion position on chapter leadership teams - some details here.

Hooray! I know Rachel Christine, and love her, although she inexplicably hates the rye chips in Chex Mix, which are OBVIOUSLY the best part of them. Other than that, she's really great.
