Grand Convention 2020 Sesquicentennial postponed

We do not know when the human, environmental, and economic effect of the crisis caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus) will be fully understood. We do know that our priority is for the health and well-being of our sisters. It is for this reason that Grand Council has voted to postpone Grand Convention 2020 until the summer of 2022. Rest assured that this decision was not made lightly, especially in our 150th anniversary year! While our laws give Grand Council the authority to postpone a Grand Convention up to one year, the consent of a majority of our alumnae and college chapters is
required to postpone more than one year. Chapters have been contacted with a request for that consent. The deadline for chapters to submit consent is May 7; an announcement will be made at that time. Thank you for understanding and for your support during these very troubling times.

Delta Gamma has just announced that our Convention in June will be done from a virtual platform.

I keep expecting to hear that ours will be canceled, held virtually, or the like. It’s our sesquicentennial this year, too. It’s a bummer.
