Awsome FIJI son

I am so proud of my son. His path has been a journey. Not the path that I think that either one of us thought he would have taken. I always told him you take your path, you don't look back but you learn from the choices that you make.
Long story short. He went out of State and girlfriend stayed and went to a state school. He ended up not rushing even though it had been paid for and as far as we knew his was looking forward to rush, his SEC school does formal mens rush. He was back home for spring semester and at CC because it was to late to have him transferred to the state school. Broke up with girlfriend in March and we started to find out how much she hated him being away and did not want him to rush. He had changed his major and that was one of the main reason why he came back home as it did make more sense, come to find out, more girlfriend related then major related for him at the time.

Take 2: New school no girlfriend. He went through rush had an amazing semester was pledge class president. Over the Christmas break went to some leadership conference, was initiated and was asked to serve on JBoard and he reworked how that is handled in the chapter. He is also the IFC rep and he is assisting the pledge ed. this semester. He has found his people and his place.

Proud MOM moment is that he texted this morning to wish me a happy founders day as I am a Kappa Alpha Theta. Why is that important? My husband who is also greek would not have thought of this but my son who is a FIJI remembered that. FIJI helped found Kappa Alpha Theta. We had talked about this at Thanksgiving and we even pulled up badges and a few other items that we both could tell had some correlation to each other. It makes my heart full of joy to know that he has found a home and that Phi Gamma Delta is a remarkable Fraternity and is truly trying to make young men into even more amazing adults. I know that my husband was sad the he did not go his fraternity but I gained a true tie to my son through the Greek system.

Way to go Phi Gamma Delta/FIJI.

CONGRATS to both your son and you! I’ve been a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta for nearly 50 years and an advisor for 20. My favorite cousin was a Theta, and that created a special bond that we both enjoyed throughout the years.
