Ro Chi vs Pi Chi, etc

When I was going through college, the sister who temporarily disaffiliated with her Greek org (hope that's the proper terminology)& guided us through recruitment was called our "Pi Chi" but I have seen several people reference to their leader during recruitment being called a "Ro Chi" and "Rho Gamma" which had me really curious...what is the reason behind this?

Sorry if someone else has already asked this question! It's just something I noticed while scrolling through various threads and was curious about! Thanks!

Also, I had thought about originally posting this on the recruitment thread, but it seemed like this was more of a logistics question and not something directly applicable or helpful to the recruitment process. If I am wrong and it would be better to place the question in there --please let me know! :)

EDIT** Actually, my bad you guys! Through an advanced search I was finally able to find some extensive info on this. I will post the link to the thread below just incase anyone has ever wondered the same!

When I went through they were known as Gamma Chi then later changed to Rho Chi (Recruitment Counselor). There was a professional fraternity with that name so they changed it to SRC (sorority recruitment counselor)

interesting! I had no idea. Before I got on here, I thought people everywhere called them Pi Chis.

When I first joined: Rho Chi.
It is now: Sorority Recruitment Counselor.

(I think SRC is now the current correct term per the most recent MOI.)

Interesting. I wonder if they have also changed it where I went to college, to SRC. I wonder what their reasoning is for altering the name? To be more "PC," I assume?

Yes. Same with the change from Formal Recruitment to Primary Recruitment.

It's not Rho Chi anymore because there's a professional pharmacy fraternity called that, so schools started calling them Pi Chis or Pi Rho Chis (Pi for Panhellenic).

Gotcha! That all makes sense, then.
Thanks for the explanations!

Auburn uses Pi Chi, but Alabama still uses Rho Chi. It's just an informal name.

Our ten panhellenic rush group leaders were simply known by their first and last names; mine was Diane Wxxxxxx and another of our ten leaders was Tracy Hxxxxx.
