Proper "thank yous" for recommendations
Thanks for your input! We had a late start and just recently completed the recommendation process. My daughter and those who recommended her did all communication with each other via email. We do not have mailing addresses for everyone. In my previous experience, the proper way to thank someone is with a handwritten note. In this instance, is it better to request mailing addresses from those that we do not have in order to send a handwritten note, or to send a thoughtful message of appreciation through email? She has briefly thanked everyone in response to their emails, but I believe we should do more. Thoughts? Thanks!

My daughter is participating in Recruitment this year. When she contacted alumni she would ask if they wanted electronic and/or paper packets, and get their email and home address. She thanked everyone in the cover letter of her packet, and in texts. In late June she sent handwritten notes to everyone thanking them for helping her. We thought it might help remind those that hadn't done it yet (in addition to thanking). I certainly appreciate a handwritten note when I'm writing Recs. I don't think it is too late to ask for their home address so she can write them.
