Are there any benefits to being in a sorority after you graduate ?
 

Not including the whole "friends for life" ?

Of course, there are. There are lots and lots of ways that sorority membership can help... it can open doors, it offers an immediate connections in a new city, it is a helping hand if you hit a really tragic time of life, it can mean scholarships to help with post-graduate study, etc. It offers ways for you to get involved with charitable work in your community, to reach out to collegians as a supporter and advisor.

In addition to everything said above, it gives you immediate connections when you relocate. I have been a member of 3 different alumnae chapters and each time I moved, I immediately had a new group of women to help ease the transition to a new city. I have made friends with women that I did not know in college, because they went to different schools at different times, but we share a connection that forms the basis for new friendships.

Absolutely. I've randomly met Alpha Xi Deltas at events and such and became friends with them from then on out. You automatically have a common bond. After you graduate, I'd recommend joining an alumnae chapter or at least attend the annual founders' day celebration. I've been a part of a couple of different alumnae associations and made good friends.
