Scared at Night
I always have a hard time sleeping when my roomie is gone. I usually end up staying up until about 4 in the morning because every time I try to go to sleep I hear a funny sound and it freaks me out.
We have ADT but I am still scared that someone might try to break in. I know that a previous tennant had a breakin and had some things stolen. |
Leave the TV on! that always helps me. Also you can cuddle with a stuffed animal.

Leave a light on. But please, for your sake, don't get wrapped up in being alone and scared. If your sleeping patterns continue the way they do then you're gonna be stressed, skip classes from lack of sleep and just be a walking zombie!
Try to introduce yourselves to neighbors. You may feel more comfortable knowing who they are and having a name in case you need something. Furthermore, by doing that you create a sense of awareness. If you know the types of people that live by you, you can gage what kinds of visitors they'll have. Plus if they're friendly it works out cuz they'll keep a lookout for you and vice versa! Hootie |
Really and truly, don't feel bad. Here I am 22 years old and I am afraid of the dark. Just like a little kid!!! I think that there are people behind me, or watching me and they are going to jump out and attack me! So everytime I am the last one up, I have to turn on a light until I get to the next room, turn a light on in there and then turn the other light off. I do this all the way until I get to bed. Sometimes I sleep on the couch with the tv on and use the OFF Timer. What a great invention for someone like me!

Get a dog maybe, they will protect you.

Don't feel bad, I'm the same way. I have to have the TV or something on to fall asleep if I'm on my own....and now I'm going to be moving into a house with my boyfriend, so there's going to be 3 floors of things to be afraid of when I'm home alone at night!!!

I thought I was the only one!!
My roomie frequently goes to stay over at her boyfriend's apartment over the weekend and I literally have to stay up until the sun rises. I'm a big baby, I know! :( And the TV thing doesn't work for me. It just creeps me out more for some reason. Good thing there's usually somebody running around in the middle of the night, too, to keep me company. Good old dorms.... XOXO, Annie. |
She's back tonight so I will get a good night's sleep.
