Grand Ole Opry?
|
have been there before to see a morning weekday show, and love Opry Mills shopping!! But we were only there for a day. A friend and I are flying there, so maybe we'll rent a car but that is till to be determined.
The titans are playing, but its right as we are getting into town. |
The Jack Daniels distillery is only an hour away, and they give tours. :D

I had an internship down in Nashville last summer. I didn't get to get out much with work, but the Wildhorse Saloon always seemed poplular for dancing and they have great barbecue there too. For shopping, along the main road (Broadway maybe? I'm not sure of it's name) is full of tourist and nostalgia shops. Check out Hatch Show Print for all kinds of old show posters. They've got everything from college football to Elvis to Kid Rock.

I was there for a day or so on a road trip with some of my bros... Seems the thing to do is find a place to put your car downtown and then hang out there around this strip of bars/clubs over close to the Titan's stadium. Lots of nice places down there.

I live here and some must do's are
Breakfast: PANCAKE PANTRY we are known for this. Lunch or Dinner at Sunset Grill off 21st avenue. I suggest the Herb roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with the chocolate sushi for dessert. Night Life: Have a cab take you to 2nd avenue and drop you off one night. This is where the bars are. The Frist Center is our best for fine exhibits and the Country Music Hall of Fame is just down the street. I will think of some other things later and post tomorrow when I have more time. Nashville is the best city. |
See lots and lots of cowboys!! :D They are soooo cute!!
I'm'a marry me a cowboy. :D |
I was wondering if there was anything to do there also...
My alma mater (h.s.) *always* takes a end of the year trip to Flordia to compete in band stuff and then spend a couple days at DisneyWorld... but the lovely band boosters decided they want the kids to go to Tennessee instead this year.. kind of off topic, but the first thing i thought was 'how nice.. what is there to do in Tennessee for fun (at least that a bunch of high schoolers would think is fun)... I say the band kids are raising the money to go.. why shouldn't they decide?!?!" But anyways... that was kind of off topic :p |
Visit the AOII IHQ in Brentwood (suburb of Nashville) ;)

If you're there and have a little bit of time to kill, drive down Broadway/West End to the Vanderbilt campus and check out the Alpha Chi Omega house at 2414 Vanderbilt Place. It is one of the newer houses on campus and it is gorgeous!

We went , we drank, we shopped ...
So I flew out last Sunday. We went downtown at about 3 p.m. along Broadway in and out of the touristy shops, ate at the Wildhorse Saloon, went to a bar called Tootsie's for live music and caught up with some boys who had just been to the Titans vs. Texas game. Then we went to Market Square Brewery (I think thats the name of it) and back to Wildhorse for line-dancing lessons. Monday was all about shopping, we went to Opry Mills, Cool Springs Galleria and the Green Hills mall. Drove around Vandy's campus, went to the Pathenon replica, and then had dinner and beer at Bosco's. Then caught the football game at Sams and had more beer.
I liked Nashville and how little but not so little it was. There is hardly any skyline, but downtown was really cute and it did not take us very long to get anywhere. Coming from Chicago and St. Louis, it seemed like downtown and Westend were the only really happening places. Not that its bad. I just wonder if I would run out of things to do there. I also saw the AXO house and other greek houses at Vanderbuilt. The SAE house was also beautiful. All in all, it was a good trip! |
