Rush from 2 actives point of view
 

Phimugirlie01 and I are in the same chapter at Ohio U and rush started today. It's a little overwhelming since it's the first time either of us have been through as an active. The events are as follows:

Welcome Day:
Sept. 28 & 29

First Events (skit):
Oct. 2 & 3

Second Events (philanthropy):
Oct. 4

Pref:
Oct. 5

Bid Day:
Oct. 6

Today went fairly well. I met some women that I really like while giving house tours, as well as some I thought were completely disinterested. I was stopped by a girl as she was leaving our house today which was really exciting. It turns out that she is in one of my classes and she noticed me in class because I wore my letters a lot and looked like I had a lot of pride in them. I never realized how women notice that. I also went to high school with two potentail members and worked at a store with two others for about 2 years while in high school. I was very excited to see them. Anyway, I'm very tired from today's events, but I can't wait to see how everything goes tomorrow!

OKay-day two is over! It was so great to get it done with because now I can sleep for two days. 462 women are going through recruitment, which is actually a little bit lower than last year, and I must have met somewhere between 90 and 100 of them since i am a house guide. I don't have any rush crushes yet, but I think i might have one by the end of skit night!

OK, so OuLioness told me to post so here goes:
Tonight was the first night of skit. It went pretty well..I didn't get to talk to many girls, but at least I didn't mess up my dance for skit!!! A girl I really liked from welcome day came back, so I'm happy! I think she could possibly be my rush crush...
Tommorow night is the other half of skit so Oulioness01 or I will keep you posted!
As for right now, I'm tired and I really have to study....

How is it going???

it went great! everyone was full of energy and the Rho Gams and WPA members loved our skit (as well as the potential members)! phimugirlie01 and i have the same rush crush....as does another one of our sisters. i really hope she'll be back tonight (i think she will). i've been running around all day trying to get ready for philanthropy night tonight since i'm the philanthropy chair/recruitment philanthropy day chair. i'm trying to remind the women coming through of our sisterhood and closeness as they are making their decisions on who to go back to for pref.
i keep hearing wonderful things about our chapter from so many people! my roommate's friend told her that she overheard two freshman talking about how we were so friendly and approachable! hopefully we'll get a lot of women.

All i have to say is that recruitment is fantastic!!! we've had the best returns this year since some of our advisors were active collegiate members!!!! One of our advisors started to cry when she found out our retention rates! we doubled our party sizes this year, which made us so happy. today is bid day.....i hope our luck extends to the women who accept bids from us!!

I'm not sure how the other houses did, but we got 13 fabulous women!!!! We didn't make quota but we didn't expect to, as we have a small (but mighty) chapter compared to the other sororites on our campus. I'm so excited for our new Phi class, as they are all fabulous women that I'm sure will do great things in Phi Mu
