what do you do when you know that another house broke rules during rush?
my house has followed every rule for rush. we are kicking ass, but i know that if we had broken a few of the rules we would have been blowing up. yesterday i saw 2 guys from a certain fraternity carying 4 large back trash bags through the new complex down to the parking structure to their car...the bags would tap the ground and make the sound that beer cans make when they clink together. they also were putting them into a car, and not the dumpsters that are provided for the row. What could all this mean??? ---->They had beer at rush.
I also talked to one of our new guys that said his roommate was bidded by the same house on monday...the day before anyone is allowed to give out bids.
This is the kind of shit that pisses me off. If we had done that shit we would have 45 guys signed already, serious. The first 2 nights of rush when we were the only house going off everyone was here. If we would have bidded that night then we wouldn't have lost some of the guys that we did. I'm just pissed and needed to vent.

REPORT IT TO YOUR GREEK ADVISOR. Get the guy who was bidded a day early to tell him/her about it. If you can find guys who were given alcohol by that house, get them to tell the Greek Advisor too.

This would happen in a perfect world. In our not-so-perfect world, the same houses that dirty rush are the ones that everybody wants to be in. Those who are dirty rushed are never going to tell on this house that was good enough to let them in. Same thing happens on my campus.

It’s nice to know that we aren’t the only ones this is happening to. There is a laundry list of rush infractions other fraternities have made: bidding 2 days early, hooters girls at a rush event (both Hooters and girls are forbidden specifically), printing rush shirts for girls, having freshman males into a party before rush, alcohol at events. Some times it sucks following the rules. I was pissed about it last week. I’m still a little angry but there isn’t much I could do.

Just remember the people they get through dirty rush usually aren’t the people you want in your house any way. Think of the reasons they joined. Because they got beer at a few events and they were bid early.
