"I Still Can't Say Goodbye"
Does anyone know the Zeta lyrics to I Still Can't Say Goodbye? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Sorry, but I don't. I have a 1962 songbook which predates 'Goodbye' by several years I believe.

Let me see how my memory is....
When I was young, they'd always say; "Zeta's forever and a day." Sometimes is seems like yesterday. Then I climbed up the closet shelf, When I was all by myself. Took down the box and found my pin. How I long to wear it again. No matter, how hard I try, No matter, how many years go by, No matter, how many tears I cry. I still can't say goodbye. They always had some time for em. We were just like a family. And once again, it's meant to be. Wind blows throught the trees, My badge, it still shines bright. Most things are the same, But I miss my sisters tonight. I saw her as I passed the campus store, Wearing a jersey that I once wore. She turned to me and gave a grin. Felt like family again. No matter how hard I try, No matter, how many years go by, No matter, how many tears I cry, I still can't say goodbye. I think that is all of the verses. This came out the same year that I was joining my alumnae group. It is still a favorite Cheryl:) |
Well, duh...if someone had just said "It's the Deb Ensor song", I would have known...I never remember titles.
Anywho - if any of you have very heard Deb sing this at TLC, Convention or ZTA Day, you'll bawl your eyes out because it's a true story. Deb wrote the song during a time when she had left working for ZTA and right before she came back as Exec. Dir. Deb's an FSU Zeta and our DP is her pledge mom. :D |
