Hootiefest question!
 

We have Hootiefest in 2 weeks and I need to get donations from different businesses...since this is my first year doing, I was wondering if there were any places that you were successful in getting to donate money?? We are trying to raise $5,000 and we are currently at $700 :confused: Any recommendations would be great! Thanks a lot ladies!

P.S Big/Little revelation is tomorrow night and I CAN'T wait!!

The BEST way to go about soliciting donations from larger companies is to write a letter stating your organization, the goals of the fundraiser and if it's tax deductable.

You will more than likely be asked to send this onto someone in the heirarchy of the company since most people can't decide donations.

Hit up the malls, still passing out similar donation letter. Follow up. Get names of people they need to be sent to and phone number...follow up. Dress very nicely. Perhaps attatch a pamplet of what the fundraiser goes towards.

I know my store gets hit up from highschool for prom. A lot of times we can't do anything unless it's given to our owners. So skip talking to a manager asking for money. Ask him who you need to contact, their number, and ask him to forward on the flyer. Then like I said above, FOLLOW UP!
