A Voyage to India!
I got the CD today, and I must say that I like it alot. If you like India.Arie, you'll like this CD. And if you don't, I think that you should check it out anyway. I think the ladies on here will particularly like Track #3 "Talk to Her". If any of you have purchased the CD or have heard it, what do you think? One Luv!

I AM GLAD THAT YOU POSTED THIS BECAUSE I WAS JUST ON MY WAY OUT TO THE STORE TO GET THIS CD. I CAN'T STOP PLAYIN HER FIRST JOINT AND NOW THAT SHE HAS A NEW CD, I BET I WILL FEEL THE SAME WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM READY TO TAKE A "VOYAGE TO INDIA"!

Fantastic Voyage
I got it, I got it!!!! I LOVE India's old CD (especially Brown Skin and Simple), so I HAD to pick this one up. I bought it during lunch, so I haven't listened to it yet. I'll be back to post my thoughts on it later on. I'll have to remember to pay close attention to #3.

I got the Limited Edition version. There's a slight difference in the tracks featured on the original. I think that there are two songs on the original that are not on the limited edition. Also, the track sequence is different on both versions. Now it makes me wanna go out and buy the orginal version too. I wish I had known that when I bought my CD. I was just thinking that the LE had a bonus track. I was wrong, and the bonus track on the LE is actually a featured track on the original version.

Her album is wonderful! I hope her album can take that voyage past the 1.7 million mark this time. My favorite tracks are "Little Things" and "Good Man" (such a powerful song)!

:D :D :D :D :D
I LOVE the CD tracks #5 and #14 are the bomb! |
I am on track 6 of my $10.99 from circuit City Limited Edition version and I am :mad: that Beautiful Surprise (#6) is so tight yet so short.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: INdia, I understand Marketing and everything, but how you gonna play a sista. These tracks are on the REGULAR VERSION but not on my LIMITED (I am NOT BUYING 2 CDs) INdia's Song Thankful (there is a song entitled GRATEFUL on the LIMITED are they the same song but using synonyms. :confused: :rolleyes: ) Power of Words Afraid of the Dark |
My radio station played "Good Man" every hour in tribute to Sept 11, everyone was calling for it, Go Miss Arie! QTE |
Ok, I finally listened and I LOVE it!!! India put her foot all up in this CD. My faves are Slow Down (very personal to me), The Truth (just makes me smile), Beautiful Surprise (I'm feeling like this for someone right now!) and Good Man (definitely should be a tribute to the victims of Sept. 11). I know, I named like the whole CD, right? And songs always grow on me, so I'm sure every song will be my fave after a while.
Yeah, I'm pissed about the whole Limited Edition mess too. I mean, shouldn't the LE version offer more than the regular version? Or should we take limited to mean limited in the songs you'll get? Did the store where you purchased your CD offer both versions? Mine only sold the LE. I wonder how they decided where to sell which version. And CT4, I'm mad you got yours for the low low. |
"Good Man" gives me chills! Thanks CT4 for listign the other tracks. Best Buy only sold the LE too. I guess I will have to DL the other ones.
limited edition
WHY is the only copy i can find the Limited Edition? I bought it anyway, and love it... but err, uh, sister Arie - you need to call the stores in DC and let them know we'd like a CHOICE between the original version and the limited edition.
Two thumbs up and a snap
As soon as i saw her on Regis and Kelly ( yeah i know... i should have been at work but ...Hey!...Everybody needs a break) I made it a point to go get it. I am loving "Talk to her" ,"The Truth”, and "Get it together". I watched the TV special when she performed "Good Man" and it brought tears to my eyes. It is such a simple yet touching song. Kudos to sistah Arie.
What's up y'all? Yesterday I bought Natalie Cole's "Ask a Woman Who Knows". It's a very good jazz CD. If you like jazz music, then you should like her CD. I bought it cuase I really liked her first single, "Tell Me all About It". I also bought the "Brownsugar" soundtrack. I'm really feeling it. To me it's the best black film soundtrack that I've heard since "love jones". The only thing I hate about it is, they put some sort of protective function on the CD to stop illegal copying. In turn though, they said that playback can be a side effect. Now I can only play it on my stereo at home, and not my walkman I take to work with me.
Shouldn't we be posting in the music lovers thread? :confused:
But I really loved India's CD. I too got very :mad: at the fact that I didn't have a choice out of the LE or the original. Target has the Original Cd that included bonus tracks with Stevie wonder. |
RE: India
Which CD should a person purchase? The LE? or the RV (regular version)? |
