A huge rush class

Hello fellow GLO's, and soon to be GLO's. I am wondering what do some of the other organizations do with huge rush classes, for example a 15 man/woman class. How do you keep them interested and also learning the history. I would just like a couple of ideas as far as activities that can be done that are educational as well as making them work together. I hope this makes since, I would like any ideas or comments if possible. Thanks and good luck to everyone for rush.

Demon,
I believe you are talking about new member classes in NPHC groups? If so, there was a post similar to yours on (I believe) the Greek Life board. If you would do a search through that topic, using the term 'large' 'line' etc., you should come up with the answer to your question.

Here are a couple links to related posts:

The NPC sororities at large schools usually pledge 50, 70 or more women each fall. They use a structured national new member program to insure that each and every new member receives the education, background and attendtion they need to succeed and become vital members of their chapter.

I think I remember seeing that Demon is a new
Phi Tau? So that's IFC Correct?

My best friend just finished his pledge semester with a fraternity here. While they weren't "required" (since a lot of things can be construed as hazing)to do so, the new members were "encouraged" to all show up to meetings/funcitons at the same time in as few cars as possible. This encouraged NM's to call each other for rides, meet together early & have pledge dinners before/after meetings etc. The guys really ended up loving it. It saved gas money and gave 'em an excuse to hang out and look "cool" cruisin' with their new bro's.

(Just make sure no one is riding in the back of pick-up trucks. It's dangerous and believe it or not, could be hazing.)

Thanks TXA you are right I am a new Phi Tau, and the idea about driving together is great. It's the little things like that, which bring people together, the feeling you can count on someone to be there is brotherhood in the making. Please keep the ideas coming.

Phi Tau fo life,
Ricky
