Need ideas for rush!

Hello my fellow service greeks,

We just rechartered (pw?) an Alpha Phi Omega
chapter at our school last year. School starts next week and we have no idea how to conduct rush.

What, when, how, and where should we do it?

The only thing we discussed is when should we do it, after Panhellenic and IFC rush, which is two weekends from now to pick up rejects, I'm not too fund of that idea for some reason.

Is Alpha Phi Omega a national organization? Isn't anyone from your national organization helping you? I can't believe you aren't receiving any guidance.

hey there, I'm in Alpha Phi Omega and have actualy served as rush chair at my chapter for two semesters (we do ours every semester, but teh spring class is usualy smaller then the fall.) i'm at a big school, but what we usualy find helpful is having "info meetings" were rushees come and just listen to us talk about APO and we answer there questions. Also we have social activies like movie night or ice cream trips, and a service event (touch on all three principles)
I've actualy found a lot of oru members atleast considered going through regular greek rush, but for some reason don't join a house. Howver, i don't really consider them rejects. (i went through rush but didn't join a house) a regular greek house isn't for everone. Expecially sinceat my school it can be awfully expensive and you HAVE to live in a house. just be patient with it and try to get the word out in as many ways as possible. I know so many people who are like "i would ahv joined that, but i didn't know about it" Good luck with your rush

Good idea kittkat! I'll talk to my chapter about having rush consist of a "info" meeting, a social get together, and a service project, which touches all three of our main principles.
