Should the unicorn stay?
 

Just because I think we need some new and interesting threads on our DPhiE forum, I'm gonna throw a new one out...

So...should we keep the unicorn as our mascot?

I heard that a few years ago, a bunch of chapters came to convention and raised a motion on the floor of Grand Chapter that we should consider replacing it with the sea star (starfish) because of the five points (5 Ss).

What do you think?

Any other suggestions?

I love the unicorn as our mascot! :) It's absolutely adorable.
I could not see our sorority with any other one :)

I was a sister when that happened. I did enjoy the unicorn as a collegiate but I'm still not down with the starfish. when was the rule written on the number of mascots you can have? why not have more than one. lol

Although I was talking about this the other day with a sister and she said, "Why don't they make it a gorilla, they have five fingers too!" It's probably the funniest thing I've heard all week!!!

Keep the unicorn!!!

I can't even stomach the thought of changing our beloved mascot!!! At initiation, the symbolism of our unicorn were not revealed to us, but this past summer my chapter held it’s Reaffirmation Ritual and the symbolism behind our beloved mascot was revealed. The ever magical unicorn has represented our organization loyally for many years, and I hope that a hundred years from now it continues to embody an organization full of grace, poise, pride, and enchantment.
