Fall Recuitment
Hey sisters, I wanted to tell you how our formal recruitment went. First of all, almost all of us (including me)this was our 1st time doing formal recruitment, so we didn't know what to expect. Also this was the 1st time we participated in formal recruitment in 2 years (If you what to know more info about the past background info, PM me). So with that and it being the 1st time for most of us, we were a little nervous. We learned and perfected the songs we would sing. went over conversation topics, practiced the skit, etc during the summer and Spirit week. We had the wonderful TCC Mary Bosco here with us during Spirit Week and Recruitment. Let me tell you, she is an awesome and amazing person and sister. We were very lucky to have her here. So I tell you day by day what happened (It started on Friday 9/13 and ended Tuesday 9/17):
Go Greek Day: We had 7 parties each lasting 30 minutes. Basically its a getting to know you session, where ya from, what's ur major, promoting the greek system, etc. We were all a little nervous, but after the 1st party we got the hang of it. We were told by the Rho Gammas that we were the most spirted and loudest during the songs, so that was good. Let me tell u, my feet were hurtin at the end, cuz we were ADPi flip flops and my feet are wide and the flips flops were narrow, so it didnt mesh well with me LOL :) Philanthropy Day. We had 3 parties that last for 40 minutes each that day. We made courage bans for the children in the hospital. They r really cute. We decorated bags and cards for the children. We explained what the RMH was, etc. Then we showed a power point slide show of the sisters doing various activities, etc. The room was really decorated very nice and cute. I'm sorry I can't tell you all of it right now, but I gotta help my dad with stuff, and i can;t save it so I'm posting what I have typed. Sorry. OOH, I can't wait for the rest of your update! Congratulations and thank you for all your work on Alpha Delta Pi recruitment. Rush is a stressful and difficult process sometimes and going through it for the very first time can be nerve-wracking! It sounds as though your chapter really has pulled together with their practices and workshops. I'm so glad that you had the assitance of a TCC as well, they are some incredibly dedicated ADPi women! I'm sure you will be blessed with some wonderful Alphas that will bring so much to our International sisterhood. congrats again...and I can't wait for the rest of the details. violets |
Isnt Marry great...she came and helped out our chapter last spring....then during fall rush this year we had TCC Beth here. They are just so helpful.

Hi ya'll. Sorry it took so long to post again buit I had the funeral for my grandpa today. Here is the rest of the posting:
Theme Day: We had 2 parties lasting 50 minutes. Our theme was Club ADPi. The papered the walls black, put up posters, had small tables with candles on them, plus a stage and DJ booth. It looked good. Our skit was about 4 girls going through recruitment (jock, nerd, socialite, and ditsy one). It was real cute and funny. Our song was Madonna's Music song. We changed the lyrics, and actually it was pretty good and the Movie, Bring it On chant, U-G-L-Y. You don't got no alibi Hey Hey. Your Ugly. But said A-D-P-I. We got no alibi. Hey Hey We're ADPi's. It was cute. Preference: We had 1 party lasting one hour. We had 20 girls come to Preference. We talked and ate cheesecake. Then we had the ceremony. The sisters with speaking parts (including me) did a very good job. We sang I love the Pin, It only takes a Spark, Scared Bonds, and Linger. It turned out real well. Bid Day: We got 10 NEW SISTERS!!!!!!!!!!!. They are awesome girls. We're really excited. We had a BBQ and had a photographer there. Their Bid day gifts were Bid day T-shirt that had the Greek symbols ADPi with silver stars around it. Then on the back its says "As long as the stars shine bright in the sky, my heart will belong to ADPi" and Lavilers. We had a good time. Oh I forgot to say how many girls went through formal recruitment. The 1st day there was about 140 go through it. 2nd day we had 60 come back. 3rd day we had 30 girls. 4th was 20 and Bid day we got 10 new sisters. Panhellenic quota was 19. We will be doing COB in October. We should get about 10-14 more girls. We look for quality girls not quantity. So right now we have 38 members. House total is 65, so we should get there by next year. We made an awesome showing during recuritment. They were all impressed. All we got was good and positive feedback. Now the other sororities are worried HEHE cuz we r not low man on the totem pole anymore and we r a threat to them now. We r so gonna kick butt during next year. :) Our group of sisters are really close, we are like a big family. I love them alot. Thanks for all ur supportive comments. Talk to you soon. Take care. Congratulations!!! It's wonderful to hear positive stories about chapters strengthening their membership :D -and recruitment makes me happy... i'm such a greek geek ;) it's also heartwarming to hear how strong your sisterhood is... with a tough week behind you, at least you have your sisters to help hold you up... congratulations again on all your hard work... it's paid off!

Another update..... We are having COR in October on the 2nd and 3rd. The 1st day is philanthropy themed and the second day is luau. We have staked fliers, etc. I think we should get another 10-20 girls during COR. So we are looking forward to it.'
My 10 new sisters are AWESOME!!!!!! They r great girls. We haveing retreat this weekend at Lake Tahoe. That's gonna be a blast. That's all for now. Pi love, Ally |
wow ally sounds like your chapter is doing an excellent job at recruiting girls....keep up the good work. sisterhood retreat sounds like it will be a blast!!!
