The Ultimate LOTR Thread
Huge fan of LOTR over here! I have the DVD and can't wait till Two Towers is out! I'm even getting the special extended version when it comes out this November. Any fans in here?

Right there with ya girly. I have the DVD as well. After watching the special features option on the DVD I can't wait until the next one comes out. I watched the movie yet again last night. Ever since I was a little stud in my younger days I liked movies like LOTR. Willow was a favorite for awhile until LOTR came out.

I am waiting for the extended version to make purchase.
TO be honest I'm really a fan of the books, but I have to say that the movie visualised most of the things PERFECTLY. I mean, uncannily like my mental picture of those books. In the next movies I am interested to see: 1. Ents 2. Gollum 3. the battle scenes- it's hard to do those and not make it boring, lol I've actually had the movie on DVD for a couple of months now, which is why I can wait to buy the extended. It's good to have friends with high speed connections, lol! |
I hate to bust your bubble, but I heard that the Ents are being cut out similarly to Tom Bombadil.
:( That made me sad. I am a huge fan of the LOTR, though, and truly look forward to the next one coming out. :) |

But I just wondered how that would work- they are such a huge part of the book, at least IMO. Tom Bombadil I didn't really miss, lol. Just another excuse for Tolkien to have his characters break into song, which I generally tend to flip through anyway (at least when songs are about food, which I feel like at least half are, lol). |

I'm a bandwagon LOTR fan because I'm only just beginning the third book (shhh! don't tell me what happens!). I saw the movie and liked it so much that I went out and got the books. I started with The Hobbit and I'm reading them all straight through. I'm hoping to be finished by the time the next movie comes out. Usually I'm a quick reader, but I've been busy so I haven't had much time for it. |

From the trailers it looks like Gondor will be perfect too. A fellow fan brought this up and I thought it was interesting... Without getting too into spoilers, do you think the movie will end exactly where the book did or slightly before to leave more of a cliffhanger? |
