Internal socials
 

The morale of my chapter has been down since we did rush, all of the sisters are very drained. I was wondering if anyone had good ideas for internal socials that we could do. Thanks!

by internal socials you mean with just yourselves right?? (no boys and whatnot??)

If so:

GO GLOW BOWLING! i don't know if it is a thing where you live but I absolutly love it. It can be a lil expensive. Even regular bowling is fun.

Four Wheeling Roller skating... go find a rink that still offers the old school skates (no roller blades) and relive your childhood skating around in circles.

Take a dance class as a whole. My group was thinking of doing a belly dancing class later in the semester.

Comedy clubs are fun too.

have a Karaoke night (sp?)

uh... i am trying to think of events that we have done in the past... i will let you know if i think of more.

You're looking for sister events, correct?
Well, John Hughes movie night is fun, "Sixteen Candles", "Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink" are all such great movies to watch with a group of girls.

A traditional slumber party is fun, the kind you would do when you were ten.

Along the belly dance theme is getting a yoga instructor for an hour and a half for your group.

Support some on-campus activities together. Most of us do not take full advantage of what's offered on campus while we are there. Is there play that the drama dept. is producing, is your campus orchestra or choir having a concert? All go together and support your local aspiring artists.
Have a serious disscussion afterwards, with food of course.

Sundaes on Sundays, very cheap social, ice cream, toppings and spoons are all you need!

Bring your favorite snack food buffet. I've done this one in combination with another workshop, but its always been a success. Tell everyone to bring some of their favorite junk or snack food; like a pot luck dinner except no one has to cook. But this one works best if you present all the junk food nicely, on a cloth covered table, and you give everyone nice plates to "sample' the food.

A build your future party. Get a bunch of magazines and have everyone clip out things that strike them as something they would want in their future. they can make collages or lists. Everyone in the group can share what they see for themselves, and how they may already be working on their goals. Also if you have an alumnae mentoring program in your chapter this is a great exercise to do with alums there. They can break down what their goals have been and how they've managed to achieve them.

one of the sisters from my chapter knew all of the moves to the n'sync videos and she would plan sisterhood nights to teach em to us. pretty fun!

also - when i did the scrapbook, i scheduled "sisterhood scrapbook nights" i would bring all of the supplies, the sisters would bring the photos, and we'd sit 'round and make pages. fun cause you could sit 'round and talk 'bout some of the funnier pictures, and practical cause then you had a sisterhood scrapbook to show PNM's.
