Recruitment help!
 

HELP! We are having a hard time with recruitment this semester. It is informal and it is tough to get girls that aren't freshman to pledge. If anyone has any ideas...please write me. Iwould love the help! If we don't rise our quota...nationals wants to come and just give bids and our letters away to random girls. We don't want it. We are small with 24 sisters...we want to grow...but we want to keep the bond that we have. We don't want to just give our letters away!

I know your pain. At our school we have formal rush and usually each sorority gets about 7-10 girls. We just lost half of our chapter of 22 girls to graduation. We were left with 1 girls. One of the soroities on campus is about to hit total. But I am very proud to say that durning Formal we got 14 girls and we are COBing 7 more right now. I do not know what is happening to our campus this semester- usually fall classes for frats and sororities are 11 people, this semster every one has over 10 people. My advise to you that you are going to have to donate double the time that you usually do. And find things that are creative, like we had philanthrouy day, everyone always makes cards and gifts baskets, this year we made jewlery to donate to the glass slipper project. Instead of doing a skit we had each girl make up a "YaYa" name and explain it to us. Also what was really good was instead of giving a speech this year we did a fashion show. We go old white shirts and tore them us and resewed them togther. Each girl had a work on her shirt such as Social or Active or Self Reliant and so on. We had two MC's and as she walked down we did a little comintary, I could maybe send it to you if you want. Also we had women from Bleoit come down, that was amazing. It showed the PNM that AST is not just something that happens here, it happens everywhere. If you need any help let me know.
