tinydancer steps out...

After lurking for about a month and reading every one of the threads on alum initiation, I'm ready to step out and find a home! Your stories have been so encouraging and interesting.

I HAD NO IDEA YOU COULD DO THIS!!!!

Pardon my shouting, but this is a dream come true!

I have such a different outlook on sororities now. I have found that the groups are not the same everywhere - that's more interesting anyway. I'm sure all sororities have wonderful members across the nation. Groups that are big in Texas may be small elsewhere, and our smaller chapters may be huge in another part of the country.

I have two WONDERFUL mentors who are helping me to investigate a couple of groups - well, sorta one in particular. I'll keep you all posted when (if) anything happens. I think I would be happy in any one of several places.

If I don't reply right away, it's because my home computer absolutely does not like the pm or post feature!! I have to wait until I get to work (HA!)

Oh, I am so happy for you!! I wish you the best of luck in finding a home. :) From what I hear, alum initiation can be a bit tedious at times, but if you do not let that get to you, it will make the journey much more enjoyable. Please let us know how things go. :)

GPhiB--
You are Gamma Phi's #1 pR person! :) I love it! My best friend is a Gamma Phi from U of San Diego... and I lived right across the street from your chapter when I was a Chi O at USC in the early 90s and I LOVED the Gamma Phi's--they were such a fun group of women!

Fight On!
Amy

I have really enjoyed my experiences this far as an alumna initiate. :) I have met SO many wonderful sisters, been able to work on the AOII archives at International Headquarters (a week going through letters and documents from our founders!), been a chapter adviser, working on getting a new alumnae chapter started, and the adventure goes on! :)

I wish you the best in your search and the experiences you will enjoy!

Sarah
