what the heck goes on during rush??!?!

Ok...I am sure all the questions I have probably are covered somewhere, but I havent been able to find all them yet, and I am still relatively confused about the whole rush process itself. I go to JMU, and I want to rush, yet I have no idea the differences between NPC/NPHC, a national sorority and a local, informal/formal rush, the whole process of recruitment (how do i get recruited? and signing up? do i sign up for all or only a few??), rounds/pref. parties, what goes on at the parties (chatting with sisters and getting to know them? no interrogations like on 90210??)...ahh im a bit overwhelmed, i originally thought this whole process was fairly uncomplicated! well...let me know if all these questions are answered somewhere else so i can go find it and read it! besides that, I am very excited about learning about it, I cant wait to rush!
thanks

Welcome to Greekchat. You've made the right choice by coming here. There are many wonderful people here who are very friendly and knowledgeable about Recuritment.

I know you have a lot of questions and that is totally normal. My advice to you would be to just explore GC. If you don't find what you're looking for when you type in a subject you are looking for, try scrolling down the page. Most forums are about 20 pages and the posts date back to 1998 if I'm not mistaken.Chances are you will find your question asked in some way, shape,or form. You can also click on the little mailbox icon that in the upper left hand conner of whatever forum you happen to be in. For example, in this forum, the lovely moderator has information that answers a lot of questions you asked. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

So again welcome to GC. I hope this helps a little. Don't hesitate to ask our highly trained specialists http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif LOL questions.
