So at my campus greek life is slowly dying out and the main cause is no one wants to get involved. At our annual greek week, basically only two organizations show up out of 7. How do we encourage more people to participate and be a part of greek life instead of just their individual organization???

Recruit people who want to be involved.

Go after the athletes, those in theater classes/groups, and students who are already heavily involved on campus. When people are joining your organization, lay out a list of expectations. Participation in Greek Week should be one of them.

Also, do chapters (or the Greek councils) hold other events throughout the year in which all chapters are encouraged to participate? Perhaps there should be some if there aren't already.

And do chapters have mixers with each other? If two groups hang out with each other, they may make friends and be more inclined to show up to larger events.

I do get really confused when members (and entire chapters) don't want to participate in Greek Week. It's fun, friendly competition. And no one has to participate in every event. I had a couple chapter sisters who didn't want to take part in the actual activities, but they built a chariot for a race, decorated props for Greek Sing, and prepped pies for an eating contest. And they showed up for every single event to cheer on their sisters.

I see you're at Pitt-Bradford. Do most of the students stay all 4 years or transfer to main campus?

I know that UPJ's Greek life has been declining (several chapters have closed fairly recently) and the current administration there is not Greek-friendly.
