general gripe
Hey, everyone. I understand that it can be hard to get your intended point across over these message boards sometimes. However, CAPITALIZING YOUR ENTIRE POST TO EMPHASIZE YOURSELF MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO READ, AND THEREFORE PROPERLY COMPREHEND, BESIDES JUST HURTING MY EYES!
Please.. if you want to make a point, utilize the UBB Code. (It really is easy to use, and you can always link directly to the instructions... they are to your left when you're typing in the message of your replies). Sorry to gripe, but THIS WAS GETTING OUTTA HAND IMHO!! ------------------ SilverTurtle@greekchat.com Phi Beta Fraternity Phi chapter |
I second that...it annoys me to no end to see a post, entirely capitalized. Not only does it suggest emphasis and sometimes anger, it's just not aesthetically pleasing.

What's worse is when someone chooses to reply with quote on a message that is all capped, and quote's the entire message before replying also in all caps!

I agree, and to be quite honest, I usually don't even read the posts all in caps. Not because I don't want to hear what that person has to say, but it hurts my eyes. So if you are trying to get a point across, it's not working. Sorry to step on toes, but caps should be used in moderation.

And why, oh WHY, do people quote somebody's ENTIRE message? Ok, a line or two here and there if you really want to emphasize your point, but it's really not necessary to quote someone else's last post if you only want to respond to a particular point!
