Official New Member!

Hey Chi-O's!! We had our Formal Pledging last night and it was beautiful! My Owl Pal for the week then took me out to dinner (she is SO sweet!!) Tonight was bid night for the fraternities on campus so all of us Chi-O's went to 2 girls in our house's apt. and prepartied there! It was great to be with all of the girls...it made me realize how wonderful and fun every girl in our house is!! We have our first official new member meeting on Sunday and I am excited!! We also have a pledge retreat planned for the 20th...I can't wait!! Oh and big/little week is in like 3 weeks and I cant wait to see who my family will be!! Okay, well I'll keep you posted!

If your chapter is anything like mine was, you'll be getting a ton of Carnations for every little significant event! :)
Have your Owl Pals spoiled ya a lot? I know that was one of the best thing about being a pledge...ya got a ton of new Chi Omega stuff!
Enjoy!

Welcome to the largest women's fraternity in the nation! We are so glad you are a Chi Omega! have you discovered where/what you are doing for your NM retreat?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Chi Omega. Take in everything these few weeks, your pledge period will be absolutely amazing. Looking back, I wish I could go back and do it all again. Have an amazing time getting to know everyone, and I can't wait to hear how big/little goes. That's an awesome week, me and my big are best friends!!!! Unfortunately she's a Rho gamma, and life without her for 8 weeks is impossible...but anyways, welcome and I can't wait to hear more from you on the forums!:D

We had our first new member meeting last night...it was informative to say the least. I do not know what we are doing for our NM retreat, but I am excited....I love the girls in my pledge class and I'm sure we will have a blast! We have dinner at the house tonight and I think we get a new owl pal! My owl pals have been awesome so far and I've gotten a LOT of Chi - O stuff!! We have to dress in pin attire today...I seriously don't have enough dress clothes for this!! We have to dress up on sunday nights for our meetings, and on mondays...I am applying for jobs today at Banana Republic, Express, and J Crew...if I'm hired, that employee discount sure will come in handy LOL!!! Question for everyone...how did you decide who you wanted for your big? What was big/little week like for you? It is coming up and I'd love to hear all of your stories!

It was funny but when I had my owl pals they didn't do much with me, but it was other girls that I hung around in the class above me that I was more interested in. So getting to know the girls on a different level (other than Owl Pal) was best for me. The two girls I preffed first and second were awesome and I would have loved to have gotten either of them. The girl I preffed first had gone to my high school and I just adore her. To this day I call her my surrogant Big Sis and vice versa.
All in all, choose someone that you feel a connection with...maybe someone stood out during rush (that's a possibility). Choose someone you can see yourself hanging out with and having the most fun with. I'm sure you'll know which one to choose when it comes down to it!

Holly- I am soooo happy for you!
You are in a whole new world now that will just amaze you every day! So awesome and such a blessing!

I am very proud to call you my sister!

"I put a bunch of flowers in a vase... a rose, a violet, sunflower and lilly. I also added a white carnation. As the days wore on, as the weeks past- my flowers began to pass away. By month end- the only flower that still stood was my white carnation. Not one petal had fallen from it's bud - nor did it wilt in any direction. It still stood proud and alive."

I thought how ironic- the white carnation is the most inexpensive flower one can buy but it lasts the longest. You don't have to have money or fame to be a part of us- you just have to be down to earth like our white carnation and you will last long and be strong.

Holly- you are strong and proud- welcome to Chi Omega!
