An Unauthorized Delta Book
 

Greetings, ladies. . .

First of all, I am really not trying to be a hater. . .but after some thought, and placing myself in your shoes, I thought I should bring this to your attention. (I did a search and did not find any results for this topic; if this has been discussed, forgive me.)

On ebay, there is an auction for a new book titled Above and Beyond: An Unauthorized History of Delta Sigma Theta . It is by Walter "Big Walt" Anderson, the same man who brought us the straight-to-video "Frat Daze" and a book called Pledge Brothers, which is supposed to be the novelized form of "Frat Daze."

All I have to say is:

1) I would not want a non-member of my organization profiting from the history of my organization. (Not that thousands of people are sweating APO, but, you know. . .)

2) Just remember that there can't be a profit if no one bids on it. What can a non-member tell a prospective in 127 pages that In Search of Sisterhood or deltasigmatheta.org can't teach?



Like I said, I'm not trying to be a hater. I'm a writer myself, and I would not write a history of one organization without their consent. It's just not right to me.

Thanks for the heads up, but I had previously seen the advertisements for this book via an email on Collegeclub. Not only does he do an UNAUTHORIZED history of DST, he has these histories on all of the Divine 9. I have not read the book, and it gets me p'ed off to think that a man can write the history of my beloved sorority, of which he cannot possibly relate, and try to profit from it. :mad: I hope prospective members don't rush out to buy it and try to use it as the Gospel of DST according to Big Walt. :rolleyes:

Isn't this the same guy that wrote an unauthorized history of KAY too? I wonder what he is basing his "facts" on? :confused: Rumours, heresay, urban legends, etc. ??
