So what's up with your chapter right now?
What's going on at your chapter right now?

Well, we're kinda in the middle of two extremes.
One of our alums passed away this weekend, so the majority of the chapter skipped the first day of classes yesterday to drive to LA to be present at his funeral. It was a very touching ceremony, complete with the funeral ritual afterwards at his house. Now we have to turn our attention to pre-rush events. We have a lot of different events planned this week before formal rush begins on Sunday. Poker night at the house last night was a huge success, we had a good group of rushees out, and some of the bros made up some the losses they took in shreveport on the way back from LA. Also, we're in the crunch to find a faculty advisor, as a snafu with our previous one occurred while our Comm. and Lt. Comm. were at Grand Chapter. We've about exhausted our resources and are hoping for a miracle so we can get recognized in time to actually go through formal rush. What's everyone else up to? Kitso KS 361 |
Well, today is day one of classes.
Our first party of the year(THE first party of the year, at our school) is tomorrow, Tequila Sunrise by name--We hold the honor of throwing the first and last parties of the year on the first and last possible party dates. Tequila sunrise, and tequila sunset. Our first meeting of the term will be sunday. We are going to be talking about the PoE, implimenting further lead phases, and electing a new social chair, since our last one transfered during the summer. Other than that, we cannot rush till January(fraternities cannot rush first years during fall term. And since our fall term is only 10 weeks long, we do not have enough time to run an informal rush, and still get everything we want a pledge class to do in during that time). We will be working on some pre-rush events. Poker night(non-gambling), movie night, as well as a few, smaller scale events, during the fall term. Delta Theta 1150 Knox College Sigma Nu |
We just finished rush. So far we have an 8-man candidate class. Not very large (not for our school) but we got a really great group of guys. Diverse interests and motivated. Makes me feel like I can graduate and not have to worry about the chapter's future.
Our first major brotherhood retreat is coming up in a couple of weeks. Going to spend a weekend at Lake Texoma. We're going to do a ropes course, practice lots of football for intramurals... have a damned good time. |
