Those Early 80's Kid's Book Characters
Hi guys. . .
I am trying to remember the name of those characters from the early-mid 80's that had a series of books, flashcards, etc, etc. I am not sure if they were ever a cartoon. They were simply drawn. Like, primary colors. . .almost like emoticons in their simplicity. Each one had a different name, too, I think. Maybe one was always sad, one was smart. I know this sounds an awful lot like the Smurfs and the Shirt Tales, but I swear it's different. Does this ring a bell for anyone? |

YES! That was an excellent clue. . .I'm sure that will help jog someone's memory.

I did some research.
http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~snpower/pag...missmrmen.html Is this what we're talking about? I think I used to have a dress with Little Miss Sunshine on it. |
YES!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
This is exactly what I was looking for. . .I had no idea there were that old AND British! |
A little more info, from GreekChat's resident children's librarian
The author of this series, mostly referred to as the Little Miss or Mister Men books, is Roger Hargreaves. If you travel to the UK you can get a lot more than just books there, they have fun audio tapes! I think I still have my Mr. Happy tape that a friend brought me back in high school from the UK. They've been printed in the US as recently as 1999, and they get slicker with every printing :) Google "Roger Hargreaves" and you will find everything you need. |
