Panhellenic vs. Asian Panhellenic

Hi,

So I am initiated in a Panhellenic sorority at a university right now, and I am transferring to another university next year. There are some Asian sororities at the university I am transferring to. I was told by my Panhellenic sorority that if I transfer, I immediately become an alum of that sorority. Am I still allowed to rush the Asian sorority next year? The Asian sorority is not Panhellenic.

Probably that would be up to your sorority. And, of course, the rules of the other Asian sororities.

how would I find out with the Asian sororities? Do I contact their president?

also, would i be able to join a spirit group if I transfer?

Does your sorority have a chapter at the new school? You might be able to affiliate. As to Spirit groups, you would be eligible to join.

no it sadly doesnt :( but in regards to the asian sorority, do y'all think i can? since the asian sorority isn't panhellenic?

I have no idea what their policy might be. If they are a national org, perhaps you could phone the national office and ask them directly.

ok thank you! hopefully they will let me rush :) because I thought that if you are initiated in a panhellenic sorority, you just can't rush into other panhellenic ones

THat's a Panhellenic rule. What other councils require is up to them. The Greek Adviser at your new school may be able to help you with that answer.
