Wisdom Teeth
I am off to the dentist to have 2 of my wisdom teeth removed. I already had the other 2 taken out a while back. Wish me the speediest recovery. :D

Then, when they started the IV, I asked them if I could take it home with me. However-I had chipmunk cheeks the next day, and could barely swallow a milkshake. That part wasn't so fun. My dear mother took pictures..... |
I'm sure everyone will groan about this but I hardly had any pain after my wisdom teeth were removed. I had chipmunk cheeks but that was it. The next night I went out for dinner with my (ex) boyfriend and his parents. Of course, it was hard to chew for a while but that was it. I never took any of the drugs the oral surgeon prescribed....still have lots of Tylenol 3 (AKA codeine) left over. Heavy stuff.

Good luck! Hope your experience is more like ZTAngel's than mine!

I still have my wisdom teeth and want to keep them, I do not want to become dumb because they took them from me!:)
How dumb do you want to get, Well I dont know how dumb can you be? Any pain is something that I cannot undertake so dont! Oh hell if they are that bad, get a 2 nd oppinion and then fo from there! i have changed Dentists, Bone Krunckers, and Meds. Well a totally different story! "Taste Good Spit it out it aint no damn good!" Dont smoke drink, smoke, or play Golf! Next time I see the Butt Head MD, in a golf cart, with a cooler, and a cigar in his face------ Hell chaneged Meds (Docs )! |
Tom, I had to have my removed b/c they were coming in impacted. If I didn't have them removed, my jaw would have been seriously affected.

We must've lucked out. :) |
When I had to have mine taken out they did the pre x-ray a week ahead and saw that they were so far up that they might have been impacted into my sinus cavity. They weren't going to be able to tell if they could remove one until they reached it...otherwise they would have had to transfer me to the hospital to get it out.
So glad that wasn't the case! Best of luck and just a word of advice...don't consume any dairy 24 hours afterwards. I did and I wanted to barf! Hootie |
I had an interesting experience. I was awake while all four were pulled. Drove home in rush hour traffic, no pain cause I was doped up. When I got home blood was dripping from my mouth. My mom got the Codeine prescription then I was fine. I couldnt sleep for 4 days, cause of the pain.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. :)
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out at once... fortunately they hadn't grown in too far, so it was just a straight extraction. I was eating solid food again the next day. The only bad thing was that the doc did one of the anesthetic blocks wrong, so the last one hurt like he!! :( - but once I got home I was able to control the pain with just Advil. I guess I was lucky :) |
WooHoo!!
Yay! You made it out alive!!!! I hope the drugs work and take away the pain.
aoe, ronnie :D |
Good luck! I had them all 4 come in just fine... Then I had them out... Can't say it was fun. I was out with friends again the next night though. Good luck!
