I remember that there was a thread on the Delta forum that addressed this a few years ago. Hopefully, it's still there and didn't get deleted last summer.

I remember seeing something a while back that said that the extras in most cases were not Greek and were just told to put something on. If you look closely you can see the same generic paraphernalia being worn in a few episodes.

I did use to see the same old random "Delta" with the same stuff on. I doubt they were all Greek.

I wonder how Bro. Bell (Ron) felt seeing random cats wearing our letters....

The only REAL Greeks i saw on that show were Brother Darryl Bell (Ron) of Alpha Phi Alpha and Jasmine Guy (Whitley) of Zeta Phi Beta. I would imagine that Brother Bell would be quite offended in seeing a random person wearing Alpha naelia! The same with Ms. Guy. Interesting thought though.
