affiliating??? please help
Hey ladies-
I asked a question like this not too long ago but I am dying here so I will ask it again- ( I posted this on another forum so I apologize to anyone who has to view this twice.) I just transferred to a school with a huge greek system, *from* a school with a huge greek system. I am a sophomore in good standing w/ my old chapter, and I want to affiliate. It seems like I get a different answer from each person I talk to. I have been in contact with the president, a few actives, and nationals. Now that I am at school, what should be my first step? They definitely know that I want to affiliate, but I just don't know what is going to happen. I called nationals and to be honest they did not have real answers. In fact, I am sorry to say that one of them was somewhat cold. Should I call the president (again)? Should I call nationals (again)? I want to start this process asap because i am new to this school and i know nobody. Their suite is not too far from me, should I walk over there and start knocking on doors? I'm being a little facetious here, but seriously, I am thinking about it. Also, several people have told me that affiliates don't affect the chapter's total, so that will not be a factor. Is this true? Somebody out there surely has some advice for this lost soul. I would appreciate any input so much! XOXO, lyrelovin |
Each sorority and/or campus may have their own rules about how affliates count in the total. But whatever...
I'd say start knocking on some doors. That is the way they know you are there. ITry to meet as many as you can. If 1 or 2 members are cold, that (hopefully) doesn't represent the entire chapter. After all you are all initiated members in good standing. you start with Nationals, that letter/email is prob gets passed down to Level #2, down to Level #3, so. Also you may want to go ahead and have your initiating chapter send a letter to the new one that states your good standing. Chapter may/may not take your verbal word. Good luck!:D |
