concerts? how to manual requested!
My frat convinced two bands off the Warped tour to play a concert for us at our college. I'm sure that booking a venue, an' gettin word out isn't gonna be hard. Convinving all the brothers to support this however has proved to be tricky. We'll most likely vote it down on our first meeting.
Do you think that throwing major concerts for social events is way over our heads as a fraternity. If not how would you recomend we we procede with somethin' like this? Have you done it before? |
Why would the brothers vote it down?
If its on campus in a normal concert venue, which will probably cost you money, you check with campus police and they will probably be able to tell you. But first talk to the head of the venue, they may just have list of common practice. Yes, definitely talk to the admin head . . . If its on campus I am sure campus police will provide security which may be in the price of the venue . . . But anyway, all should be revealed if you speak to the person in charge of the place you are using. |
If it is going to be big, why not have it as a philanthropy event instead of a social. Charge everyone to get in to help cover costs and give all the rest of the proceeds to your national cause. It could be a great PR tool!

I agree with sororitygirl2, turn into a community project, raise money by charging people a small fee for the event, and give to a charity of your choice. That way it looks good to the community, you still have a great time, your brothers and everyone else is convinced. So it turns out that everyone wins.
