Recruitment 2002
It's that time again, and I'm sure we would all LOVE to hear about how wonderfully our Alpha Phi chapters are doing with this year's recruitment. Let us know how your recruitment is going, how many new members you have, and anything else about your recruitment this year.
If you are a new member of Alpha Phi, let us know so we can welcome you to our wonderful sisterhood! It would be so much fun if some of the PNMs posting their rush stories go A Phi! I will be helping the DePaul chapter with recruitment this year, but it isn't until September. Of course, I will let you all know how it goes! |
At St. Mary's University we have deferred recruitment. :( There is still another semester to go. I look forward to finding out how other chapters do though!! :)
|
I got two chapter results so far:
Kettering made quota (which I think was 6) Washburn made quota ( which was 7 - they have had declingin quota the last few years. Women used to rush for housing but then they built nice new dorms and not as many women are interested in rushing.) So far APhi is 2 for 2! I will post more as soon as I get the results! |
Texas Tech's recruitment begins in earnest today (Monday the 19th). Last night was an open house walk-around, where the PNM's toured each house. Active members were not present, only alumnae.
I will keep you in the know. |
I am rooting for Gamma Beta at UCSB and Epsilon Chi at Cal Poly SLO. I am a GB alum and my (real) little sister Alexis is the VP Recruitment at EC. She's getting a little nervous but their chapters rocks so I am sure they will be fine!
It will be a weird experience having to miss out this year - I was so heavily involved for 3 years and now nothing! We grew so much in the three years I was there (thanks somewhat in part to Laura D. :) ) so I can't wait to see how much they ROCK this year. I am actually shadowing the UCSB Greek Advisor for the week in the office and during walk-arounds, because I will be supervising my first NPC recruitment at UC Santa Cruz this year. I have to thus disaffiliate like a Rho Chi (no pref night!) but I get to show up on Bid Day!!! I will also be present at SLO's bid matching to support my sister. Laura keep us posted on the CA chapters!!! Delia:cool: |
Hooray for all the Alpha Phis helping with recruitment! One of the nearby colleges will hold recruitment in September; the other school holds only spring recruitment. I'll keep you posted on the results, unless lauradav beats me to it first! :)
|
I will do my best to keep everyone posted (b/w Stacey and I we should be able to keep you up to speed on results across the country).
Delia, have fun at UCSB. I have a feeling there are great things in store for them this year. I had no idea that your sister was VPMR at Epsilon Chi this year. Was she at regional conference? RC was so large this year that I didn't get to know everyone as well as I would have liked but I think that Lindsay would have noticed and said something. Anyway, good luck to all of our chapters! Laura |
Hi ladies,
Just wanted to let you know that Colorado School of Mines made quota (7) this year. Yea Iota Zeta! Laura |
APhiGal posted in another thread that so far Alpha Phi was 8 for 8 at making quota and that we had pledged quota at the following schools: Kettering. Washburn, Idaho, Washington State, Missouri, Texas Tech, Iowa State and one other school she couldn't remember. The only other school I have heard about so far is Oklahoma City University. They pledged quota + 2 (24+2=26) fabulous new members!
Way to go all you stellar A Phi chapters! Laura |
Laura -
Lindsay knew that my sister was VPMR; we were joking about the Rau dynasty that we were building on the central coast. She was at regional conference this year - if you saw her you would laugh because we look so much alike. Are you helping out at Santa Barbara or Cal Poly at all this year? I don't know if you heard or not but SB lost skit day :( and replaced it with a 'theme' day. Go figure! |
More rush results hot from the presses (sorry I've been a little lax in reporting):
University of Missouri (Omicron) matched quota of 65 and had a very successful rush! University of Nebraska Lincoln (Nu) matched quota +3 for a total of 40 new members. Super job! University of Arizona (Beta Epsilon) matched quota of 57!!!! and Lafayette College (Eta Sigma) matched quota of 19 and has already COB'd 5 for a new member class of 24. Way to go ladies! I'll have more results this afternoon. Laura |
Thank you Laura for the updates. :)
WTG A-Phi's!! |
Thanks Laura!
I love reading these updates because it makes me so happy and proud to know how well my sisters are doing all over the country. :) |
I am proud to report the following results from the Southwest Region:
University of Southern California (Beta Pi) pledged 50 amazing new members! I am so impressed with their recruitment results and am so happy to see the joy of the chapter and the new members! CU Boulder (Beta Gamma^) pledged 60 amazing new members! Yippeee! I am so excited and so proud of their rush team who worked so hard to make this happen and exceeded my expectations at every turn!
