Taking a semester off?
Next year I plan on rushing at a pretty big university in Texas, between my sophomore and junior year of college I will be heading off to Air Force basic training which will require me to take the first semester off of my junior year. What happens if I do that, will I have to leave the sorority or can I continue to pay dues and return that spring? Thanks for the help in advance.

Normally, nothing happens. You aren't in school so you are just not there. You'd need to check with your group after you pledge but lots of people take a semester off so it's not unusual. They may require you pay reduced dues or you might have to satisfy a live- in requirement but all that varies per group.

It's no different than if you were studying abroad or doing an internship. Each sorority has it's own rules for what happens if you are not on campus for a semester (as far as dues owed, reduced "points" needed that school year if you are wanting to live in the house the following school year, etc), but all will accommodate you. Don't worry!
