Quick question..If a girl SIP's on her final preference card and gets the call on Bid Day that she has not received a bid, would she be eligible for a snap bid or COB? I am asking because of the fact that she didn't maximize her options and list both chapters on her preference card. Anyone know?

She is not eligible for snap bid, but can go through COB if there are open spots at the chapter she is interested in.

According to the latest NPC MOI, "women listing intentional single preferences on the MRABA are eligible for snap bidding". Assuming that PNM doesn't match to who she intentionally single preffed.


However, snap bidding is typically done in the time between Pref being over and before Bid Day starts. So if it's already Bid Day, as I'm interpreting from Ladybugmom's scenario, then the time for snap bidding is over. The PNM would be eligible for COB at that point.

If you SIP, what you are not eligible for is to be a quota addition. You are eligible for a snap bid or COB.

But as a huge caveat, she would only be eligible for a chapter that is not already at or above total. So if she SIP'd so that she didn't get stuck with "that" house, that house may well be the only chapter below total. So I'd be very clear about what her options mean in real terms.

Thanks everyone! I have a friend whose daughter SIPed and did not match with that chapter. Of course said daughter is very upset and now wants to know what her options are.

I think COB is her only option left for this year. Any chapter at total will not be doing COB. Even if a chapter is below total, they might not want to do COB. Very sad....
