Unusual Things That Happen To You
 

Since I am sick today with a lot of time on my hands I thought I would write about an experience I had on sunday. It's one of those mortifying/not so funny things at the time, but later you find it amusing :)
Anywho, I was at walmart on Sunday getting some things there with my mother and my bookcase (Heh, I put it together myself. I am becoming a regular Martha Stewart, cept for the criminal part :D). As you know they have those greeters when you come in the door and when you leave. So I'm carrying the heavy bookcase box and as I am going out the door woman smiles and I smile back. Then she suddenly stops me. Here's the conversation:

Doorwoman: Uhh, I have to see your receipt for that, before you leave."
Me: (looking puzzle and not wanting to put the darn box again, cuz I just want to get it to the car) Oh ok (I look for a place to put the box down and settle for the floor)
Doorwomen: Does your MOMMY have it?
Me: (staring at the doorwoman puzzled thinking, did she ask me if my MOMMY had the receipt??) (In a kind of ticked voice) No, I have it.
Doorwoman: (looking :o realizing she just made a doofer (dufuss mistake)) Oh...

My mommy??????? :confused: :mad: :rolleyes:
That's right folks. This soon to be 23 year old in Oct., got asked if her mommy had it.

Ok, now I know I look young for my age. People tell me that all the time, but normally I get told like the high school range. But she went all the way to elementary school and some would say even lower.
Leslie, Judi (well Judi you have only met me once) do I really look that young????

I told my mother and she died laughing.

you're going to be 23????:eek: wow....you look alot younger than that. but dont worry its a good thing. I'm 21 and i still have strangers asking me how many more years until i graduate from HS. Too bad that was 4 yrs ago...lol

I still get carded sometimes at R-rated movies, but I hardly ever get carded when I buy alcohol. It makes no sense. But, I figure it's probably better to look younger than I am than to look older than I am. :)

Heh, I got asked that at a club once about 4 years ago. And the guy said he really did want to know who my father was.

When I turned 23 a week ago, a lot of people didn't believe me when I told them my age. They said I looked like I was around 16. And yes, I still get carded everywhere I go. I guess it's okay though. Maybe it's the Asian in me. Mom just turned 50 this year but she doesn't look a day over 35. I hope I can be as lucky!

A few days ago, I chopped my hair off in an attempt to look more sophisticated. I'm not really feeling the haircut, but people have said that it looks great and I look like my age now.
