IKEA lights for Gamma Phi Betas
Hi there,
I was in IKEA (one of their British Columbia, Canada stores) and saw these really pretty wall lamps/lights that were yellow crescent moons (in the kids section). I thought immediately of Gamma Phi Beta! I am not sure if IKEA-Canada and IKEA-USA carry the exact same merchandise, but I just thought I would mention it to you! They are quite pretty, those crescent moons lights and might look pretty in a hallway or a bedroom! :) |
Thanks for the tip!
My (biological) sister is an IKEA fanatic, I'll tell her to look around for those lights. Also, I was at Target today and they had cute crescent moon lamps too...they were for kids' rooms, but who cares? :)

I found them on the website....

Thanks CutiePie2000.......I love cute little crescent moons. I wanted to let you know that when I was a recruitment counselor my partner was a delta gamma. I loved that girl and i love your organization. I can tell that all delta gammas truly care about the greek community in general. You really prove that by taking such an interest in other chapters......a big thank you to you!!! I love that anchors....our delta gamma chapter here is also rageddy ann, is that an everywhere thing or just our chapter?

Thank you so much for your kind words about Delta Gamma. I really admire Gamma Phi's philanthropy; they actually have a girls camp not far from Vancouver named Camp Sechelt. To answer your questions about the Raggedy Ann symbol, DGs call her "Hannah". DGs have a song about Hannah (since 1926) and in the 1950s, Hannah's image sort of evolved into a perky pigtailed blonde, wearing a short skirt and a sailor blouse...then she gradually morphed into a rag doll and eventually DG just used Raggedy Ann. However, Raggedy Ann is copyrighted by HASBRO toys, so now we have a Hannah who sort of looks like Raggedy Ann but isn't, that you can buy through the Anchor Trader. The Anchor Trader also does sell Raggedy Ann dolls too, but DG just can't copyright her, since HASBRO already has done that.... Actually, I just found this thread and thought it was quite funny.... http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...5&pagenumber=2 It's about people who are scared of clowns and therefore, the Hannah doll! Poor HANNAH! LOL |
