No Frills Recruitment
Hi!! So this year my university has switched to a "no frills" recruitment policy. I'm currently in the middle of planning the first round and I have no idea what is all considered "frills". If anyone can give me a list of things that would be great!!! :D

I would reach out to your RCRS and recruitment adviser. Good luck with recruitment!!

You should have a recruitment compact that spells out exactly what you can and cannot do. If you are the VP Membership, you should have that at your fingertips. If you are the round director, check with your VP Membership.

Are you at UT Austin? I wonder if no frills at UT means just regular and normal at other schools. Rolling eyes here.

If it is UT-Austin, good luck with that. Somehow the alums always manage to add to the budget/bring in better refreshments/replace all the house furniture with brand-new showroom stuff until after the parties are done. And some houses are still clinging to skit nights by their fingernails. Change is HAAAARRRRDDD, y'all...

I doubt this is UT-Austin, there have been pretty exhaustive and detailed meetings and rules for exactly what the guidelines are for each round, with open house remaining relatively unchanged from previous years. For UT-Austin, Open House round has little to no decor. Only allowances are one large or two small floral arrangements and water must be served.
There should be some Panhellenic rules or by laws that detail what is allowed. Try your Panhellenic rep, the Panhellenic adviser or your recruitment captain/VP-recruitment and recruitment adviser for more information! |
