Omega Brother elected leader of Presbyterian Church USA
 

Bro. Rev. J Herbert Nelson was recently elected the Stated Clerk of the PCUSA at the 222 General Assembly. He is a third generation Presbyterian minister. His father, The late Bro. Rev. J Herbert Nelson, served as 6th District Representative of Omega Psi Phi.

Bro. Nelson was initiated in Omega Psi Phi via Rho Chapter, Johnson C Smith University, a Presbyterian-related university. He earned his M.Div at the Interdenominational Theological seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

He is the first African American to serve in this position in the 300 year history of the Presbyterian Church USA.
