All that's remaining of the Pi Phi house is the front. It was only some 20 years old. I'm told it'll be ready in 2018 but it's going to be huge and elaborate and I hope they can continue to fill it.

I love that they kept the facade of the Pi Phi house and will incorporate it into the new design.

I'm just envisioning what it would look like if there was a huge tent behind the facade and they used that for recruitment. ;)

They are all huge and elaborate and we all hope we can continue to fill them...at least till the mortgages are paid off!.

That's what I worry about. There are always fluctuations on how "in" Greeks are. What happens when you CAN'T fill the house? And that WILL eventually happen.
I just hope they're paying extra on the mortgages during these flush times.

I love looking at these houses, and the interiors. What I do wonder is how many young women who live in these for four years will think they should live like that for the rest of their lives.

Those are beautiful! I am curious; those houses are enormous, do they have cleaning crews who come in almost daily to keep them clean?

There was one that I just want to go live on their patio!

Yes, there are housekeepers on staff to dust, sweep, vacuum, mops daily Monday through Friday. Of course, girls are responsible for their own rooms.

We had to clean everything in our house on our own, even when there was only 35 of us! Now there's 85 and we still have to do it ourselves, even those who don't live in house! I imagine they can all pitch in a little...

Personally, I think that's a great idea!

Those of us who lived in the house had a rotating schedule of cleaning for the various rooms and were responsible for our own. Housing Corp. did arrange for us to have a once a week cleaning crew to come by for the floors, bathrooms and dusting.

I think that the most challenging task was hooking up the ancient dishwasher. You had to attach the hose to the sink's faucet and turn on the taps before you could start a load. I think that everyone found themselves drenched at least once when they realized they hadn't securely fastened and tightened the attachment!:D

I'm laughing at the comment about the Delta Gamma House - screen doors? I don't think so. But of course, if there WERE screen doors, it would be just fine. After all, we Southern girls grew up with them!
