Does your campus have any weird (untrue) rumors floating around it?

At UCSB...
*Brittany Spears was a student
*Students consume 1% of all the Nations alcohol
*Isla Vista is the most densely populated area West of the Mississippi
*Playboy named the Francisco Torres Dorm 'Easiest place to find Sex on a college campus'


you get the idea...

There is a mural of pegasus on one of the buildings. The rumor was that pegasus would fly when a virgin graduated. :rolleyes: A lot of schools have similar rumors. ;)

At our school, there has been a rumor that the guy who was in charge of building our belltower was suicidal. I think that only came up though because when you look at our belltower at night, on the corners, it looks like someone hanging themselves... kinda creepy :p

It's a rumor that Girls Gone Wild has taped at a SAE/Sigma Chi party, but it's never been confirmed nor denied At San Diego State University.

There are a couple silly "rumors" at the College of Charleston:
1) Theo from "Road Rules" goes here. But this one is actually true. I saw him one night when he was working the door at one of the local bars. Only the people who have yet to see him on campus think this rumor is a lie.

2) College Lodge, one of the co-ed dorms on campus and by far the wildest, was listed back in the day among the top 10 party dorms in the nation by Playboy. (i still don't know is this is true or not)

3) Lots of haunted house stories. But many of the houses that students live in around the city are over 200 years old, so there might be some substance to that rumor. I totally believe that my sorority house is haunted!

There was a rumor floating around that Jennifer Love Hewitt was going to go to Lehigh (not my school, but close enough). Supposedly she changed her mind right before classes started...riiiight.

I thought he went to LSU. People from there have all saw him there plus it was known that he went there when he was on road rules.....unless he recently transfered.

The rumors at JMU were that Britney Spears was thinking about gong there. I'm not a student there, but this was during my senior year when everyone applied there:rolleyes:

Britney Spears isn't going to college. Let's just be lucky she finished high school (albeit private tutors).

We heard the Britney one here too and so did my sister who went to another school:rolleyes:

Did anyone ever hear of a rumor that during Halloween there would be a massacre at a dorm that was in the shape of an H by someone dressed up as little bo peep. Everyone swore that a psychic revealed this on Oprah! I lived in an H shaped dorm at the time and I freaked out LOL. Anyway, it was just a rumor, there was no such thing said on Oprah. I heard that this was rumor was widespread.

UCF also had a rumor that Britney would be attending school here. There was another rumor last fall that Christina Aguilera was attending UCF and that she would be rushing. I'm still waiting to see her on the PNM list. :)
There was also a rumor that Playboy voted UCF as having the best looking girls on campus.

Kansas had the one about Britney Spears too. I also heard one about Taran Noah Smith (youngest kid from Home Improvement) applying here.

Supposedly, within a few years there will be a route that transfers NUCLEAR WASTE right next to our campus. Nice! :rolleyes:
