Honour Society with greek letters
Does anyone else think wearing the letters of a Greek-lettered honour society you've been inducted into is a thing that should be done more?
I'm currently in Sigma Alpha Pi and Tau Sigma, and I wear my letters because although I'm not in a sorority, I'm still proud of what I've accomplished and understand the meaning behind my letters, it's just I don't see them very often and I'm wondering what other people think. If you're in an honour society (Phi Kappa Phi, Psi Chi, Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Delta Pi, ect...) would you ever wear your letters out/on things like fraternity and sorority members? |
What do the other members of those societies do on your campus?
|
There isn't a chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi on my current campus, since I joined at my first university then transferred. Tau Sigma has official licensed gear from the national offices with the logo and the name spelled out on it that I see around, but there's a few people that also wear stitched letters on baseball caps and outerwear - there's been talk of getting event shirts from our fund raisers and such that we can wear because we're not well known really, even though we're a national honour society.

If other members of your group wear letters, then go for it! I also really like the idea of event shirts. It can be great PR and a way to raise awareness and knowledge of your honor society on campus.

go for it
Sure, if you are proud of your letters, why shouldn't you wear them?
